What is the best time of the day to hold my wedding ceremony and why?
Here in Queensland, we are blessed with some of the best weather in the world. With approximately 283 sunny days a year, it's not hard to see why Queensland is named the sunshine state of Australia!
Dream wedding ceremonies are located an easy 1 hours drive north of Brisbane. The Sunshine Coast is becoming more and more popular for outdoor weddings, with the best of both worlds. We have the beautiful coastline stretching for miles and the lush hinterlands rolling hills a short drive off the highway. So you really are spoilt for choice for weddings here on the Sunshine Coast. You can even choose to have both locations for your wedding in one day, with the drive from the coast to the hinterland only 40mins. Ceremony beachside, reception hinterland? Or the other way around?! So many options!
So what time should I hold my ceremony if I am having an evening reception?
3pm is usually the idea time and this is why:
You will have plenty of time to get ready, soak up the day with your bride tribe and make fun memories taking your time and getting your hair and make up done together. Oh and a few bubbles to celebrate the excitement!
This would have to be the most important point! The sun will be at its best position, allowing your photographer to grab some stunning shots of you without the full sun shining into your eyes. No squinting in your photos!
It will allow you enough daylight hours to get in those hero shots with your photographer, and even a few dusk photos which will be absolutely amazing.
Depending on how far away your ceremony is from your reception, your guests might like to pop back to their accommodation to freshen up. Having a few hours between the ceremony and the reception will allow plenty of relaxing time for all your guests while you are getting your photos. Or enough time to get your guests to drive to your reception without stress.
This image was a beautiful winter's day at 3pm. You can see how gorgeous the light is, winter weddings are certainly my favourite!
Hopefully all this information gives you some valuable tips with planning your incredible day, and enables you to have the most amazingly planning day ever that you won't ever regret.
